Best Key Largo Snorkeling Tours in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary – Explore Coral Reefs, Tropical Fish & the Christ of the Abyss

Experience the best snorkeling in the Florida Keys with an unforgettable trip to the crystal-clear waters of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. These world-renowned snorkeling destinations are home to vibrant coral reefs, abundant marine life, and some of the most scenic underwater views in the United States.

Snorkel iconic reef locations such as Molasses Reef, Elbow Reef, and French Reef, along with the famous Christ of the Abyss at Dry Rocks. These shallow, protected reefs are perfect for snorkeling, offering clear visibility and easy access to colorful coral formations and tropical marine life.

Get up close with sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, moray eels, and schools of vibrant fish as you explore part of the third-largest living coral reef system in the world—and the only living coral reef in the U.S. Whether you're a first-time snorkeler or an experienced ocean explorer, this is one of the top snorkeling experiences in Key Largo.

What You Need to Know Before You reserve

  • Participants must be able to swim to take part in snorkeling activities or enter the water. Please note that this is a boat-based snorkeling excursion— not a beach entry— and there are no areas where you can stand once in the water.

  • We provide all necessary snorkeling equipment, including a mask, fins, snorkel, and snorkel vest. All gear is thoroughly sanitized using a medical-grade sterilization process. If you have sensitive skin or allergies, you may prefer to bring your own equipment.

  • For safety reasons, full-face/integrated face-snorkel masks are not permitted on board.

  • Prescription masks and wetsuits are available for rent at check-in, or you can reserve them in advance by calling ahead.

While Dry Rocks (home of the Christ of the Abyss statue) is a guest favorite, visits to this site are not guaranteed. Snorkel locations are selected the day of the trip based on weather and ocean conditions. We do our best to honor requests and visit this spot when possible, but wind and sea conditions ultimately determine where we can safely go.
